St. Agnes African Sisters of Chipole
The Sisters of St. Agnes desire to remain responsive to the evolving needs of the community. In doing so, we have identified several other projects that will promote the education and economic potential of the residents of Chipole and surrounding villages. In addition to the specified projects of CDP, ICT, the orphange, and Mbamba Bay, other projects are also on the agenda and are awaiting funding and capitalization. Other Projects
Primary School: Currently, the primary school at Chipole St. Agnes provides seven years of education (classes one through seven) for girls. We would like to modify and change the primary school to an English medium school and accommodate boys and girls. A coeducational primary school will provide orphaned boys a safe environment and permit them to continue their education. To facilitate this, we need to renovate, extend, and modify the existing school buildings to have 1) more classrooms for the increased number of students and 2) dormitories to accommodate boys.
Special Education: There are many handicapped children in the community, but there are no programs or facilities in place to educate and accommodate these children; therefore, they remain uneducated and uninvolved in their communities. We would like to begin classes that are tailored to the special physical and mental needs of handicapped children to support them in leading productive lives.
Health Center: There is an existing dispensary in Chipole; however, we would like to build a health center that can accommodate more patients and provide additional services.
